Community Guidelines

The standards that keep StoryNest™ a warm, respectful and inspiring home. They apply to everyone — readers, authors, moderators and staff — without exception.

Our promise.

You should be able to open a story, join a book club, or publish a chapter without fear. These guidelines describe what we expect and what we won't tolerate. They are enforced consistently by our Trust & Safety team.

Core principles

Six commitments we live by.

Respectful behaviour

Disagreement is welcome. Contempt is not. Speak to people, not past them.

Author conduct

Publish work you have the rights to. Label mature or triggering content. Engage with feedback in good faith.

Reader conduct

Reviews are for the work, not the person. No brigading, review-bombing or personal attacks on authors.

Reviews & feedback

Honest, specific and constructive. No spoilers without warnings. No fake or paid reviews.

Harassment policy

Zero tolerance for threats, doxxing, sexual harassment, hate speech or coordinated attacks.

Account integrity

One person, one identity. No impersonation, vote manipulation or paid engagement rings.
Content safety

What is never allowed.

  1. 01

    Content sexualising minors

An immediate, permanent ban. Reported to relevant authorities.

  2. 02

    Threats & incitement to violence

    Including targeted harassment and doxxing.

  3. 03

    Hate speech

Attacks on people based on identity, ethnicity, religion, gender or orientation.

  4. 04

    Self-harm content

Content that promotes, glorifies or provides instructions for self-harm.

  5. 05

    Illegal content

Anything unlawful where the content is published, hosted or read.

  6. 06

    Malware & scams

Including phishing, cryptojacking or paid-engagement schemes.

Reporting

How to report — and what happens next.

Step 1

Report

Use the three-dot menu on any story, chapter, comment or profile. Reports are anonymous to the reported user.

Step 2

Review

Trust & Safety reviews within 12 hours for critical reports, 3 days for others. Every action is logged.

Step 3

Outcome

Warnings, content removal, feature limits or account suspension. Appeals are handled by a different reviewer.

See something wrong? Tell us — we'll act.

Reports are triaged 24×7. The reporter's identity is never shared with the reported party.
